Distributor cap order?
does anyone know the firing order for a renault clio distributor cap. its a 5 stud cap with a 1 digital on but im unsure about the rest and if i have it on the right way around. the car is a n reg 1171cc 1.2 energy engine
Usually 1-3-4-2,but that`s not much help if you`ve mixed them up.
Remove the spark plugs.
Turn over the engine by hand while partially blocking no.1 plug hole,(the one nearest the belts)
When you hear a hiss of air come from the plug hole,no.1 is on its compression stroke.
Now fit the plugs to the leads and place them,say,on the manifold.
Switch on the ignition and turn the engine by hand until you see one of the plugs spark,this is no1.,mark it.
Continue to turn the engine,the next spark is no3,the next no4 and the next no2.
