Brought in a Chinese SKS to have some trigger work done at local gun shop and got rejected…?
Basically the owner said “Get that crap outta here” (In reference to it being Chinese) and refused to do some basic trigger work. Question is should I call around and see if someone will work on a Chinese model SKS? Made me feel like an idiot, not going back there anytime soon. Sheesh!
The trigger likes to jam up on occasion. I just need it to be inspected and cleaned/reworked.
I think it is worth around 400-500 though. Besides being a Paratrooper 16″ barrel and having a T6 stock. I do have some disposable income willing to be put into the weapon.
I’d call around.
To be completely honest with you, an SKS is not a bit of equipment made to precise specifications.
You really can’t get too much *quality* out of one.
I think that gunsmith was a bit of a d**k to be truthful… I would’ve said something more along the lines of “there is no point in you dumping your money into it, as there isn’t much I can do to improve the trigger pull”.
